Well after some time and patience, I found my Rupp holy grail. I grew up learning to ride on my dad's 73' nitro 400. It was an amazing animal to me at a very young age, sight, sound and smell. He and I got into collecting Rupps a few years ago and came across some real cool stuff which included a few magnums, nitros and sprints ( I still have a 73' magnum and a 72' nitro 400), but never a 73' 400 like he had or even a 295 like my mom had. Since my dad's passing two and half years ago, finding one of these sleds became my passion. I came across one on Craigslist a few weeks ago, I wanted something rideable but not a full on restored sled, and I had to have it. After making contact and making plans, my wife, son and I made the trip to pick up this beauty yesterday. She was a new sled to the gentlemans grandfather in 73'. Since then he had grass dragged it a bit and only seemed to rack up 850 miles on her. She is all stock except for the 72' rams horn twin exhaust. She will need drivers and idlers in the future and a left side panel, but all in all she is a great rider and a very emotional find for myself and my family. I love my news sleds, but nothing compares to the memories made on these sleds.

Congrats on the find. Looks like she's in good shape. Sounds mean with that 72 exhaust, I bet!

Nice Find you got there, should be able to enjoy that for years to come....Funny how these Rupps seem smaller riding today, than when we rode them as Kids back in the day....

I tried sitting to ride it yesterday and I about fell off! She is a single knee bandit that's for sure.
