This is my Rupp back in the day. The picture quality stinks, but I can tell you that it had a 340 fan cooled twin, a plastic shroud around the motor covering the motor, slide suspension (not bogies) and that wedge seat. I rode it for about 2 seasons, but I don't remember what model it was. I don't remember a decal on the hood with a model name. I can't find a model with all of the features mine had. Could it be that it had parts from different Rupps? The wedge seat seemed to be original, and had that Rupp tail light. It reminds me a lot of my '72 Nitro except for the motor not being exposed and a red hood center. Thanks!

Looks like you may have had a 73 or 74 American. Your seat on the sled looks like its not original because there are no snaps holding it to the side of the tunnel. Hope this helps.

I second that. 72's had bogies and no shroud on the 72 rally.

Looks to me like a Sport but they never had a slide suspension. It looks like it has a narrow hood. I would say with the suspension it is a 73 Nitro with the Sport or Yankee hood and upper side pannels, and just never put the stickers on because it was more money or wanted it to be a sleeper.

Nah, it's a wide track. You can tell by the space on the sides of the headlight housing.

I agree, definitely a widetrack, probably an American.

Thanks for your imput. I'll go with the '73 American. Yes, I see that the seat isn't original. I remember how nice that twin ran. Two weeks after I sold it, the new owner wrapped it around a tree. He was fine but the sled was toast.

I agree with American. Check the right side tunnel for the serial number. Add one to the first digit to get the year. So if the tunnel serial number starts with a 2, it is a 1973.
