Well.... 5 years or so after acquiring this barn find , I finally got it out of my backyard. I had to manufacture a new bumper mount, put on a new brake assembly (thanks BS) and tighten/adjust a few things here and there.
The picture is a few years old.. but I found a nice foam to strap on for the test run, and since we got about a foot of snow yesterday... and it drifted and drifted.... our local road was covered in 4-5 foot high snow drifts. When you've got a 440 L/C ready to romp on, and you've got all that snow.... what's a guy to do
WELL.... I must admit that the Brute exceeded my expectations. While my wife's 99 Indy 500 struggled with the deep soft drifts, I jumped right up on them... got a little concerned when I immediately sunk about a foot, but she just powered on through and went looking for more!! up/down/left/right/bank/up...etc she just toyed with the snow. I was very impressed.
I found some paved road, but with no windshield, no glasses and a fogged up visor that I had to raise, I couln't really see through the heavy snowfall, so I never really had a chance to open it up. The requested video of the L/C 440 @ 8300rpm is just gonna have to wait ;D
Got her back to my shop just in time as one of the 32 year old hoses was spewing coolant all over the place.
Still got a few things to do before she's a regular rider... new hoses all around, put some runners in the skis , fashion myself a seat, etc,etc....
But she passed the first test with flying colours, and I'm really looking forward to having lots of fun rides in the future! WooHoo!!!!
