OK I have a question for you guys using the 108. What is the advantage of using an over-drive clutch on an old vintage sled when the secondary will NEVER open up far enough to take advantage of over-drive? It is mechanically impossible for it to do so.

You have to use the newer driven with the 108, like Dale said it is mechanically impossible to use with the orig. driven, and also the wider 1 & 3/8" (new style) belt must be used.

If you run the newer (reverse cam) driven make sure you use a cat black spring. I wasted a ton of time before I got one. Its real soft and was used on early 80s cats. HPE has them too. Works good with a hex or comet with that secondary. Finally got a comet (102) to perform I'll see If I can gget a video on here.
