I just picked up this Rupp Today, it's a 440 American I am assuming it is a 1973 but I am honestly not sure. First ever sled I had bought, I am not a stranger to fixing up old stuff as I have done many mini bikes, quads, trikes but I figured it was time for a sled. I seen the ad for this one and after working out a deal to trade a ct70 I had for it, it was in my garage. The seller had this video of it up as well as these pictures It ran and drove but I brought it in the garage to start looking it over and was impressed to see it has electric start no battery but I am pumped about that So far it is missing a nut on the engine plate, the exhaust is leaking, the stock muffler is trashed as i can hear bits and pieces rattling in it, there is oil leaking from the top end but other than that it seems semi s My goal is to just fix it up and have it be a reliable runner, not really planning on hotrodding it but as things break or if it simpler to upgrade I will. I would like to make an exhaust from a newer 440 and maybe twin carbs for looks but honestly reliability is more important to me than any mods. Here is some pictures of it

Hey Garret you have as much snow at your place as I have at mine. I live in west Michigan and 25 miles south some places had 3 feet the last ten days or just a little less than 1 meter in your neck of the woods.(If you live in Canada) Crazy lake effect. I also have a Rupp American 40hp with the slider suspension. Good trail rider for an older sled

I do live in Canada, Brandon Manitoba.
Tomorrow I am going to cut the stock exhaust in half to see how it was from the factory and rebuild it. Decided I will get it back together and make it a good runner and mangle it in the spring time, the guy I bought it from has a parts sled that I will most likely pick up.
Anyone know any other local guys to Manitoba that I could maybe pick some parts off of
