Hey all! does anyone have the ohm reading specs for a stator and trigger in the Kohler ignitions? My F/A 's ign seems to go into a coma, then comes back to life for a while. Then one side sparks stronger than the other side, then visa versa. I know they act up now and then. It goes like hell one day, then next day it won't light up? I tried 3 differant cdi boxes on it and 2 sets of coils and they all give the same results eliminating these 2 possibiltys I think. I heard of about a half dozen ways to test them. Does anyone make a better replacement or upgrade stator for these? Any info on the proper test readings wheter it be an ohm meter or a Merc-O Tronic would be "GREATLY" appreciated THANKS!

High speed coil - (Blue wire)-76 ohms. Low speed coil-(yellow)-2.7 ohms. Shoot me an e-mail and tell me your readings.

Hey bankRUPPt I think their both haywire High speed blue- hard to read 116.4 to 140.4 ohms, then finally settled at at 140.1 ohms Low speed yellow read 332.0-352.0, jumped back and forth then stabilized at 293.0 ohms Then I ended up robbing one from '75 T/T Merc,it tested at Dale's specs EXACTLY and the ohm meter didn't jump around, it was stable, I put it in and it runs fine now and starts easy hot or cold

I bought a 1976 rupp ralley 440 kohler motor with no spark. i checked mine over and it showed bad stator i figuared being it was bad and the wires looked black i would cut them off until i found good color looking copper wire then rechecked the wires and the stator checked out fine. i soldered new wires and shrink wraped them and whala i had spark.
