I have a 76 340 Sprint. I am curious which way the foam block with tapered holes in it goes. This is the piece that goes between the air scoop on the hood and air box on the carb. I'm guessing it goes like a velocity stack with the larger diameter away from the carb. Anyone?

Wide part goes down toward the carbs, the tapered part goes up. Wig

That said I have this thing running top notch with the block reversed. I also have the needle raised one position. (I wonder if the lowered clip compensates for the reversed block??)
Starts on 2 pulls and winds right out. Even the plug chop looks good.

If you have it tuned right and it runs good, I'd tend to leave well enough alone!
