I have a 72 or 73 Nitro 340 in my shop that my customer is claiming is making a ratcheting or clunking noise when hard cornering (particularly on a left turn). That is about all I know as we don't have enough snow at the moment to try and recreate the noise. I must admit I am a little out of my zone on vintage sleds and I hesitated taking it on. These look like way different creatures than what I am used to. I have done the obvious looking for any missing hardware, missing drive teeth, broken track windows, chaincase bearings seem good, chain looks good, sprockets look good with no missing or worn teeth. Is there anything else that would cause this sort of issue?

Check to see if the ski is possibly coming in contact with the front edge of the track or under the belly pan.Possible weak leaf springs or loose/worn spindle/saddle assmbly. Kerry

Make sure the track is not rubbing on the tunnel in the rear. There is a kit for that problem.
