First let me say thank you for running this forum. I am brand new to this site and I am brand new to Rupp. I just picked up what appears to be 3 = 1972 Rupp Yankee 40 HP. This is the unit with the fixed hood and the drop down sides. They are appear to be complete and in extremely good condition. The tracks are the 15.5 inch track and they all have boogie wheel suspension.
They have not been ridden since 1985 but the person who I got them from did keep them dry and clean and stored properly. All fuel cells have been cleaned and are rust free inside. I would like to know what steps and what to check as I begin to try and fire these motors.
They are free previous owner fogged the or oiled the cylinders before storing. Carbs were removed drained cleared of fuel and sprayed with lube and bagged for storage. What things are common to rupp that should be checked on the suspension and the gear case?
I want to ride these sleds so I would like to know what are common issues? Also is the yankee hard to get parts? Also one has a speedometer while the other 2 dont. Was a speedometer optional in 1972? It seems that several models used the same chassis and track and suspension? Is that accurate? Any help you can offer or suggestions would be great! Thank you for allowing me to post.

Very slow this time of year. I suggest getting them running and after that drivers and idlers would be my first upgrade. Message snowsnake for these wheels. Post pics thru photo bucket and that will help. Good luck.

Thanks for touching base. I was wondering if I posted in the wrong part.
