Anybody know the differences between the 68 and 69 sno-sport and how to identify them apart, the frame has the GT300 on it, the serial # I have is 26902 it is stamped on the left floor in front of the ski spindle. And it also has the dual sprocket track on it.

If that's all you have to go on I would say you are describing a 1969 S-281? The GT's didn't come with dual drive but someone could have swapped it out. I have 3 69's and the serial numbers start with 25, 29 & 31 so I would think it is a 1969. The 68's had a "glove box" in the aluminum bulkhead and a rubber gas cap whereas the 69 did not.

Thanks for the info, I will go with that beings the serial number into yours and there is no glove box in the aluminum bulkhead, but I have a book showing that was a GT300 in 1968 there again could be a misprint, manual is a newer style with other sleds listed.

There was a GT-300 & S-281 in 68 as well but they are very different machines. One of the bigger differences was the 68 had a tubular backrest while the 69 was plastic. You can find a parts manual on E-Bay pretty cheap.

ALL my 69's had a center drive track,nothing with dual drive.I'm no expert,but that is my observation of 68's & 69's that I've owned. Stretch is on the money with the differences. Also,the 69 GT300,had a 114" track,the 69 GT370,had the 121" track,both were center drives.

Yes, the 281's came with dual drive tracks in '68 & '69 as I stated above and are shown in the parts books.
And no, that chart doesn't mean anything as it has not been updated in years.
