So I'm working on the rupp from my childhood it's in pretty rough shape I'm trying to get the nut off to remove the stator I believe it has a coil behind the outer cover that is broke off and wedged but I can't seem to get the nut off does anyone know if it is right or left hand threads or a trick to get the nut loose

Its been awhile since I worked on the Tohatsu engine,BUT I believe it is RH off. I use an impact wrench to get the nut off.

Beat it to death all you want. It's left hand thread. A impact should do the job.
