I've done the research for the Polaris track conversion. From what I've found, a mid 80's to early 90's skid will work. Does anyone know how late into the 90's I can go (1994, 1995?)? The conversion will be for a 1971 634 WT.

I think you can stick anything in there. If your asking the 4 to 6 inch suspension I think your right on the cutoff date is 95. The extra 10 came in 96. Its easy to tell it has 2 rods running beside the rear shock. But the pre 96 they are a little different here and there. Like slightly longer front arm different reinforcements wheel placement little things CD will be different. Think I'm going to go that route also

Having never done one, but looking to do the same I'd be interested in a build thread when you do tackle the project. Would be on a 78 Nitro though...

I have done conversions from early-mid 80's to extra 10's,12's and longtracks. It's not that difficult. Make sure the track is 3/4" lug or less if leaving axle in stock location. Use 8 tooth drivers. Pretty much any brand will work as long as it gets pinned to the axle as the Rupp axle's are larger than most so drivers will need to be bored. Get the measurements for skid from the sled it came out of. Make sure to put some form of steel between skid and tunnel to prevent egg out. Once done you will never have to hunt for the allusive Rupp track again and your back will thank you. My back is so effed up it's the only way I can ride the old stuff. Hope this helps Joe
