I have a 72 400s that I am overhauling. I am planning on putting nos 400s-3 cyl in in crankcase. I will also be installing nos 72 400s pistons. The heads will be from the original 72 Does anyone see a problem with this combination?

Without having any of the mentioned parts in front of me. I can only tell you this. Make sure the ring end gaps don't end up in a port or on the edge of a port. Make sure they have enough cylinder wall to ride on. Take a black marker and put a mark on top of the piston where the pin is in the piston for the ring end gap. Drop the piston in the cylinder. This will show you where the marks are compared to the ports. The holes in the pistons used to line up with the S ports. Now I'm not sure where they end up. But I don't see it being a problem.
