Is the head in this pic different than the style that does not have the water inlet/rad cap gooseneck on it? Or does it just the t-stat housing top cap that's different. Looks like this gooseneck bolts to the head too?

Or, what are the differences between 77 & 78?
I've heard of an "upgrade" for '78, I know they did away with the rad cap up thru the console.
Have my '78 to put back together, but cannot find a pic anywhere of what it's supposed to look like.
Sled came to me with a 340 in it, and a fudged coolant routing mess.
Help???

I believe that the heads themselves are the same. Where the radiator cap went on changed in 78 to get away from having the hood hit it. I'm not real experienced with the 78's.
