For sure a lot of work. A special thanks to all involved in getting this glass to Bill and for bill building it to as close as could be expected. Without this glass it would have been impossible to get the 3rd Dimension restored for Waconia and for Gene and Tedd to see it in person. I seen some of the pics prior to this post but not all of them. I see now that the glass had some relaxed issues and some cut aways especially on the lower panels. This would or could have caused some twisting and relaxing issues that led us to a undesirable fit. Without the original bulkhead it was almost impossible to recreate the glass exactly the way Tedd had done it 40 plus years ago. Not taking away from Bills work at all. We wondered why the issues we had with it fitting the 1 inch off set bulkhead. Now seeing the complete picture and doing some measuring we see what needs to be done to make it correct. Bill it looks as if you have twin cylinder glass! The cut out mcruppin mentions is for spark plug removal. Here are the two sleds that have this glass but modified a touch. And a third one from back in the day at the race track.

thanks for the comments guys. Dacota, the glass i use for my race sleds is the original mid mount type glass. i love the look and really wanted that look for my race sleds. years ago i did build some front mount custom 3d glass. it works well and looks real nice also. it will mount right on your l/c chassis. the mid mount glass does not mount on a front motor chassis real easy.
Ed, yes it is the 2 cylinder glass, i knew you would notice that, lol. Ed have you ever seen the picture of the 3d glass at the factory when it was being made??
i am not saying the glass is perfect, and as of the bad shape it was in, it was in good enough shape to rebuild so i could make a mold of the pieces and build as close to 100% perfect as it could be. i love doing stuff like this, as far as making a corvette body, don't think i could make one but i sure could repair one.
rick, that was a nice sled you built at the time.

Bill I have not seen the glass build at Mansfield post them if you have pic's. Ricks Tohatsu powered 3D is still in beautiful condition on display at Gene Blooms shop and he loves it. Here we are with Gene.

Here is a couple pics showing the fitting process on my 650 replica, also the bulkhead I used on the 650 is very suspicious in the way it fits the 3D lower panel contour and had a dzus fastener spring still in place. I used the hole to bolt up the glass and eventually will get the Druze fastener installed. This aluminum bulkhead was on a race sled bought out of New York and shelved for several years. Note the steering arms on the spindle is extended into the fibre glass for a tight fit. Now seeing the pics of the glass and the work done to bring it back to fit a wide 73 magnum it will not be out of the question to make these and fit them on the original magnesium sled. Of course Ed (bankRUPPt) will help me LOL. It appears both lower pods were identical side to side If the remains of this glass was not tampered with back in the day, Who knows sure, look what we do with our sleds now but my guess it was not. This is the direction I will take. Tedd built 4 total sleds and maybe an extra set or two of glass.

That pipe work is just amazing Ed! I would still love to hear one of those bad boys running with the octogonal pipes. Do they sound any different? Or too hard to tell.

I only have been around 650 SS engines. This sounds similar to the 650 Tohatsu but a touch different. Very unique, the aluminum does have a ring to it. Tedd told me the aluminum pipes drew a lot of attention in the pits.

Thanks Bill. Like Ed said. It could never have been built if you hadn't made the mold to get-r-done. I better add the fact that the 3D I built was not built to be exactly like a 3D I put some of my own touches to it. Besides I really didn't know what all a 3D had when I built it. I really like showing pictures of itbut I have post it so many times of the years I think some guy's get sick of looking at it but if there is some new guy's out that want to see some pictures I will post them.
