the next two picks are of the chaparral gb44w cylinder the exhaust port is smaller but they can be ground out to rupp porting but its a lot of work they run two ring pistons but 76 rupp onringers work in them you can bore them out to 72mm and make a 484cc engine but with no boost port the 484 piston is a two ring and you cant go a wide on the export with it because the second ring is pinned between exhuast and transfer port

here what the intake looks like on the chaparral clyinder the intake port is 21mm from bottom of clyinder like rupp, transfer are at 49mm, exhaust is at 32mm these were 50hp at 7300 rpms, they still could be moded to make good hp

here a picture of 76 rupp cylinder head vs chaparral head the rupp head is higher compression the chap head has a more open chamber less compression but it could be milled down reshaped for more compression, theres alot out there on the table with these xenoah engine there are combinations to make well over 125hp moded only thing lacking is your imagination and pocket book dam that usally hurts

heres the 77 and 76 now both are riders , they have same engine combination and 102c clutching , the 77 has stock rupp suspension with cleated polaris track i bought it that way , the 77 has way to much streering effort have to check the wedges to see if i can loosen it up some it really feels like its 2 inches above the snow compared to the 76 with arctic cat track and suspension,

relocated the pc board on the 76 and the expansion tank and cdi unit, the pc board was relocated to the chain case like the 77 i took about 20 ft of wires out of the leads going to the pc board and put all new connectors in them you can get new connector for them at radio shack, boy this cleaned alot of mess under the dash and below air box, bolted the cdi unit to water pump cover and its lot easy to get to now, the expansion tank i mentioned earlier has been relocated to water pump cover also i used a conduit pipe clamp for electrical conduit to hold the bottle worked out slick, now you can get to alot of things under the hood more easly

to check the lighting coil measure ohms between yellow and white wires at the main connector should be.184 ohms+ or- 10% thats all there is to checking the stator. if you check dont check out check out all wire connections corruded conectors will raise resientance clean and replace connections rechek values then. if all this fails replace stator

heres a set of 77 440 cylinders i had laying around with std. bore but the head studs had been drilled and tapped 3/8-16 and were stripped out, put 12 big serts in them and saved the clyinders and now there back to 8x1.25 mm like stock ,, the big sert repair is great i recommend it for those big oops on thread repair the holes were just to far oversize for helicoils, so if your got a jug thats all messed up this will give you another shot at it
