Kind of at an impasse here, between doing the yard work & working on plans for my new sled shelter! If it doesn't rain any more,it will become reality this weekend! We got hammered with rain last night! BUT it was needed.

This is the way 634 looks today,9/9/12! Sled is running. Picture of new seat! Got tired of looking at the old crusty, rusty, bent skis! Went into inventory & found a set that actually were chrome;even shined up! Also painted the springs, found a nice pr of Gabriel shocks[32095,correct number for Rupp],put everything together & here is the outcome!

I have been working on the last pieces on this sled, the lower panels & the hood. I've just about got all the fiberglass work done, the lower panels are close to done, but not painted.

All the body work is done & primed. I will next mix a special product to fill in all the stress cracks. It's a product of Canada & used by quite a few body/paint shops that work on fiberglass!!

Here is the hood coated with Poly 2000. It's a VERY fast drying product. You have about 3 minutes or less to get each of the 2 batches painted on!! Here's the hood AFTER all the Poly was sanded off!! Now it has to be re-sanded,primed a couple of times, then painted red or black!

Hood painted, early this morning, with Dan's "RED". I see I missed a few stress cracks & it has some dust in it,but hey,it's a rider, NOT a trailer QUEEN!!

The hood and side panels look great, keep up the good work. When ever I find a stress crack or ding I just slap another decal over it ;D

chrisb,I like your way of thinking!! BUT I think my hood would be solid decals.

Thanks snikr. I did body work & painting from the late 60's to early 90's,working on rusted out, steel body junk,Corvettes & fiberglas mixed in. Once you know the fundamentals of any job,it gets easier the more you do!! My sleds aren't show sleds,BUT just sleds I've reclaimed to ride & have fun with.
