As of yet,I've still not put the hood on this sled.I'll let the paint cure awhile longer. I've decided not to use the decals I had made,I'll do something different!! Again.

I went downtown,to a place that does decals,& looked at a real tough, clear vinyl that I will put on my hood edges[where it comes in contact with both bumpers]. It is the same stuff car makers put on the bottom of fenders, rocker panels etc. It's put on like a decal & it's clear. It's fairly expensive, but it's tough as nails, should save the paint ok. Nothing worse than getting hood painted & it gets nicked & scratched when you open & close it. Should have the hood finished in February,March,April!!! Maybe May,June or July!!

Oops I lied! I guess Dan's paint shop will be open this next week. I still have to finish this hood. It's been in my family room for about a month or so,time to get it done & out.

I'll finish this hood, but it will never have the 634 decals on it!!! This 634 project ends with this hood. The engine has been sold[is going to a really good home, buyer wishes to remain annonoymus]. Money will finance another project which includes this chassis. When it's back on the snow is anyones guess. This project & my 340FA project will be the last of my projects to make the sled sites, for NOW anyway. I've had fun,but now must concentrate on other projects, which doesn't include sleds.Gotta go.

Sorry to hear you sold that sled Dan, I trust it went to a good home. You didn't have a chance to really enjoy it... Those sleds were workhorses... Besides your faithfull 29 it would have been a build I would have kept..

Joe,[just sold the 634 engine],I've got plans for a couple of builds using wide tracks, 440's & electric start. Right now,I'm just trying to thin some of the unwanted sleds to help finance future builds. I'm now deciding what I want to build & keep. I've only got so much inside room for my keepers,so I have to pick & choose.

heres the hood on 634 The next time this sled is seen,it will have a different engine in it. Yes,I know,2 different reds,Dans red. The sled hadn't been started since march, shot some gas into carb, started 2nd pull.It still sounds GREAT! Nicest sounding Rupp I've ever owned.

Bringing chassis from cold storage shed to shop.Snowblower is used to assist in the moving. 440 that I had in inventory, runs on spray. Empty compartment, where the 440 will finally come to rest!!!

Dan that is a pretty ingenious way to move your sleds around Chris

My ATV's are put away for the winter. My truck is 2 wheel drive,SOOOOOOO,the lowly snow-blower got the call. Those "T" sled dollies, have hard rubber,5" tires/wheels. They like to sink into the snow, even when it's hard.

Working on the engine, cleaning some of the grease/grime off it.It has good spark.Goal is to have it in the snow next week,if I can find a good Tilly carb with internal pulse in carb.

The engine I grabbed off the shelf,is a 1970.It needed a seal retainer,so I made one. Engine in place, oil leaks will show up nice on the blue mount.Took 2 people to wrestle the TR440 into place.

I had it running for a little while today. That was with a Keihin carb,NOT the rebuilt Tilly I had on it a first!! Couldn't even get it to fire with the Tilly. SO,I took the dirtest Keihin carb I had,off a 71 440WT. I cleaned the outside of carb, looked really nice on the inside. Fired right up,then died. Took the carb off,I couldn't adjust the plastic screw on the bottom, for adjusting fuel level. Put it back on,started right up,made some adjustments,it ran fairly good.I'll let it sit for now.Have to get the belt guard done.

Worked on getting carb adjusted,it runs alot better!! Even starts on 2-3 pulls! Can't have this sled sitting in garage taking up space for my next build.

First time in the snow with the TR440 in it.Ran ok for the maiden voyage. Need the site glass for carb, so I can get the gas level set.
