Was a bit of a pain to cut this thing apart without screwing up the main structure and leaving the pieces intact for patterns. Having these pieces made and then will rebuild/reweld it for use.

Bought these ski's awhile back. One of them was missing the grab handle and the runner holes in the bottom are a bit hogged out, about 5/8" or so. Got some heavy wall tubing and made new grab handles. Bead blasted them and worked them over with flaps wheels on a die grinder. Have to weld on the new handles, going to make bushings and weld them into the runner holes to fix them. Might get them polished then anodized or maybe powder coated, haven't decided yet.

Also have to weld up the pin holes for mounting the springs, they're wallered out.

Had a few of these pieces in the works for awhile, these showed up today. I had 2 of these rear F/A bulkhead pieces made, I had also gotten some really nice reproduction belly pans from a fellow here on the board. Now I can fix that bulkhead up I had cut apart.

Had several of these made as well. I will machine pieces from blocks to form the ends brackets and make them to actually fit into the slide rails correctly. At least the one aluminum spring plate I have, the end plates to mount into the slides are too wide and it would bend them to force them into place.

Here are the ski's I was working on, got them all welded up but haven't gotten back to them. There are apparently (obviously) 2 types of grab handles. The outer ski's are original ones that I bought that had the larger handle. The back ones (re-pop) are for a F/A. I have asked a few folks and the big handles are likely Magnum while the smaller loops are F/A. I have seen pic's of F/A's with both types so?? Interchangeable I guess.

I was a little less than enthusiastic over the summer about sleds..... now that its cooled off it's easier to work on winter time stuff.

I finally finished these up and off to powder coat today. Welded up and re-did the ski mounting holes. Made and installed the new grab handles, I know, they are Magnum style and not F/A, but I ain't cutting them off and doing it again so they will have to do. There are pic's of F/A's with both style of grab handles so I'm gonna run with.
