Nice job on that, looks good. Before you get that dude all painted up again, make sure your pivot shaft still slides through with no issues. I made new shafts for mine and had to push the thing around in the press and hone the bore of it to get it sorted out again. Thanks mrmotors! Got a little late last night and the primer was still little wet but I did try the shaft before I called it a night & found that it fit nicely.....about 3/4 of the way thru so it will need a bit of tweaking. Should have thought of that before I blasted it & primed it.

Yup---me too. I cleaned the first one all up and took it for granted that it was straight. Had it all powder coated and finished nicely-----then figured out it was stuffed. On the 2nd one, I checked it and did all the mod work and then made sure it was straight. I had to do a lot more welding on mine. That thing was not straight or square in any direction. It almost went out the front door like a depth charge before I finally outlasted it and got it straight. What a pain.... Also, someone commented about the spring retainer washers. They were on it when I got the part. Thought it was a good idea so I left them.

This one did require some added cutting & welding to get things right too. I have three of them out of sleds right now & they were all little different & none really square. Got my modified one straightened out in the press so the shaft fits nicely now and got it painted. Also got the drivers moved. Almost ready to put it all back together.

Got the wheels at the front moved in then put it all back in the sled. I like it! Have a couple good solid skis but they are rusty in the centers so I tried painting that part of one. Not sure I will be able to deal with that?

I have seen some nice chrome-like powder coating...MUCH less spendy than re-chroming!!

Exhaust blasted & painted and most of the wiring is complete. Hope to have the fuel system done today? She is just about ready to run again. Still waiting on the red parts. Hoping to have them next week???

That Rupp looks great, nice work. How many hours do you get into rebuilding a sled like that?

One of my 38mm carbs is broken. Will the 36's from one of the 340's work?

That Rupp looks great, nice work. How many hours do you get into rebuilding a sled like that? Thanks ruppeagle. Really dont know how many hours? The first one took just about exactly two months. Started December 19th & finished February 17th so it looks like I have about a week to finish the 2nd one to stay on course? My partner in crime in this whole adventure did help some on the first one. I am pretty much solo on the 2nd one. I have to start playing carpenter again so things will slow down soon.

Anyone know where I can find a set of the amber side marker lights? We had one good set out of the 4 sleds.
